Releasing and Welcoming Students of Exchange Programs between Undiksha and International Partner Institutions: A Realization of Internationalization at Home

Undiksha Receives SeaTeacher and SeaTVET-SEAMEO Exchange Students from ASEAN Countries

Ganesha University of Education (Undiksha) continues to expand international cooperation with overseas partner institutions. Most recently, discussion was held with Polytechnics Tuanku Sultanah Bahiyah (PTSB) Malaysia, on Saturday, 31st of August 2019.

Five PTSB delegates, led by Puan Yusma Binti Yusof were received by Undiksha Vice Rector on Student Affairs, Prof. Dr. I Wayan Suastra, M.Pd. accompanied by the Chief of Institute of Instructional Development and Quality Assurance of Undiksha, Prof. Dr. AAIN Marhaeni, M.A., and Head of Office of International Affairs and Partnership, Dr. Ni Made Ratminingsih, M.A.

Communication went warmly. Puan Yusma Binti Yusof expressed her presence to discuss cooperation with Undiksha in developing the quality of education and Human Resources, especially students. As a Polytechnic, it offers student exchange programs for a number of fields, such as civil engineering, mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, and commerce, including education.

The collaboration has started this year, 2 of lecturers of Undiksha were invited as guest lecturers last March 2019, while in August and September 2019, there is an exchange program between the two institutions, two students of PTSB did their internship program in BRI for a month, while two Undiksha students are doing their teaching practicum at PTSB.

Further collaboration were disccused with the two deans of Undiksha, Dean of Faculty of Economics, Prof. Dr. Naswan Suharsono, M.Pd. and Dean of Engineering and Vocational Training, Dr. I Gede Sudirtha, S.Pd.,M.Pd. Meanwhile, Prof. Suastra responded positively to this collaboration communication. According to him, it was also a strategic step for Undiksha to succeed in the internationalization at home program that has been declared by Rector of Undiksha this year. “This is not only student exchange, but also lecturer exchange. We will follow up this collaboration so that we can proceed in an effort to improve the quality of human resources,” he explained (written by Dr. Ni Made Ratminingsih, M.A.)
